North East Florida Chapter Meeting August 8/25/16

Application Security: Involving the Application Team

In this presentation, James Jardine CEO of Jardine Software will talk about some tips for maturing your SDLC and getting the application teams involved. James will discuss some steps that can help identify the current status of the SDLC and the goals you are striving for. With a “security talent shortage” it is important to get the SDLC team involved in security directly. This presentation will go beyond the developers and identify how QA, BA, and application owners can play a critical role in securing applications. Identifying the specific skill sets that each resource has allows for more efficient training and a quicker maturation of the program. When you empower the team, you decrease some of your workload and work more effectively as a team. See how leveraging the current SDLC members is important to maturing the security level and reduce risk to applications.
